After transmigrating into a novel, Jiang Si became a capitalist's daughter in Shanghai. In the original novel, she refused to fulfill her marriage engagement because she despised her reticent officer fiance and worried that island life would be arduous, unaware that she would soon be schemed against by her scumbag father and stepmother to be sent to the countryside, while they fled with the Jiang family's century-old assets to Hong Kong, ultimately causing her body to break down in the countryside. Knowing the plot well, Jiang Si decides to avoid suffering.
