Others urge Mr. Lin to sell his dilapidated shop and the house connected to it as soon as possible, fearing that the property will depreciate and become difficult to sell in the future. The person urging him admits that repairing phones brings in little money and that he urgently needs cash, while Mr. Lin's father is still lying in the hospital and desperately needs medical expenses. Caught between the urgent need to raise money for hospital bills and the prospect of giving up the old shop that sustains his livelihood, Mr. Lin faces a difficult dilemma.
