During the coronation ceremony of Fu Xingyao, the Female Emperor of the Nine Realms, Mu Chenming launches a rebellion. She is also betrayed by her clone-like younger sister, Fu Xingli, and her divine essence and origin are destroyed. Cast down from her divine throne, she falls into a mortal peach blossom grove and loses all her memories. Rescued by villagers, she is given the name Mu Taotao. To eliminate her once and for all, Mu Chenming massacres Qingxi Village, the place that took her in, leaving no survivors. Bai Mao, the Divine Lord who governs the order of the Nine Heavens, secretly harbors an obsession with her. He heals her wounded spirit and forcibly takes her back to the Divine Realm. After cultivating in the Divine Realm for three hundred years, Mu Taotao becomes the target of another scheme. Bai Mao secretly detoxifies her, disguises himself as an immortal attendant, and sets out to punish the person who poisoned her. Thus ends Season One.
