Gu Dao, an ancient God of War, was framed by the Heavenly Emperor. After reincarnating, he became a decrepit old servant of the Qingmu Sect. Unexpectedly, he awakened the Chaos Heavenly Spirit Root, permanently remaining at the mid-stage of Qi Refining while possessing an infinite supply of spiritual energy. Disguising himself as a frail old man, he plays the fool to catch his enemies off guard, humiliating villains and purging corruption within the sect as people gather around him in admiration. As demonic souls plunge the world into chaos and conspiracies come to light, Gu Dao sweeps aside powerful enemies with his invincible Qi Refining strength and seals the demonic souls. He then storms the Immortal Realm to settle accounts with the Heavenly Emperor and his old enemies. With a mortal body, he stands shoulder to shoulder with the gods, eventually becoming the revered 'God of War of Qi Refining' across the Three Realms. He protects all living beings and those he holds dear, creating an extraordinary legend of invincibility through Qi Refining.
