Rather than act impulsively, Zhou Dacheng gathers all the evidence and works tirelessly with various parties to complete the necessary procedures, turning the old well into a compliant public water point. After numerous setbacks, those involved recognize their mistakes. Sun Guofu's son, Sun Zhiqiang, reforms his ways and begins diligently learning the craft at the tofu workshop. The well operates in accordance with regulations, the tofu workshop earns recognition, and the neighbors live in harmony, relying on the well water to build a more stable and prosperous rural life.
