In the bitter Northeast winter of the 1980s, hunter Lin Qingshan broke his right leg eight years ago while saving a young boy, only to be subjected to all sorts of humiliation by his father-in-law's family and his brother-in-law Wang Xiancheng. After being humiliated at a birthday banquet, he awakens the Hunter King System, unlocking the Golden Eyes and Wind-Following Ears. The lame poor hunter re-enters the mountain forests, rising up to become a renowned hunter king far and near. The father and son of the rescued youth appear, exposing Wang Xiancheng's scam of embezzling a huge compensation payout. Lin Qingshan leads a team to bravely charge into Old Dragon Ridge, repelling an overseas treasure-stealing gang to protect national treasures, winning the honor of treasure-protection hero, welcoming a new lease on life with his wife, and exhaling all his pent-up grievances.
