Celestial God of War Ye Tian guards the South Heavenly Gate. After defeating the invading demons, he accepts an invitation to duel Demon Lord Fang Hai beyond the heavens. Unexpectedly, the opponent secretly deploys troops for a sneak attack, causing the South Heavenly Gate to be damaged and celestial soldiers to be killed or injured. Because of leaving his post without authorization, Ye Tian is judged and punished, being demoted to the mortal realm to undergo trials and polish his Dao heart. Before departure, his good friend Nezha comes to bid farewell. After a cycle of reincarnation, the former God of War transforms into an ordinary high school student. With past celestial battles vividly in mind and carrying a divine sword pendant, he starts a brand-new journey in the ordinary human world to settle his temperament and re-enlighten the Great Dao.
