Shen Ce and his younger sister awaken a system and discover that they are living inside a novel. Shen Zhao, the original male protagonist, will use Pei Xuan to bring about the destruction of the Shen family. To prevent this fate, Shen Ce takes someone else's place and marries into Pei Xuan's household, doing everything he can to stop the two from meeting and fighting against the plot's attempts to correct itself. During a hunting expedition, Shen Zhao uses a birthmark to deceive Pei Xuan. The siblings expose the truth and break free from the constraints of the storyline. With the crisis over, Shen Ce divorces and joins Pei Xuan's forces, and the two become dependable comrades fighting side by side.
