Zhao Tianqi gave up his family's three mu of fertile paddy fields in exchange for a barren mountain with sparse vegetation on the western edge of the village. The villagers were bewildered by his decision and all thought he had made a foolish choice. What they did not know was that he had already noticed that the ordinary-looking wild weeds growing all over the mountain were actually premium wild Anoectochilus, a highly valuable medicinal herb that was in great demand on the market. He then reached a long-term agreement with his uncle, Zhao Daqiang, secured exclusive operating rights to the mountain, and began harvesting the precious herbs.
