In his previous life, Lu Qingshan was a worthless, irresponsible man who squandered his family's fortune and was addicted to gambling. He lost everything, causing his wife, Lin Wan, his sister-in-law, Lin Qing, and his daughter, Yaya, to starve to death. Reborn in 1982, he awakens the destiny of a Mountain Lord, gaining the ability to sense creatures of the wilderness and command all beasts. In this life, he turns over a new leaf, ventures deep into the mountains to hunt and gather wild goods, and risks his life collecting medicinal herbs to repay his debts. His elder brother, who had severed ties with him, and his second elder sister, who had long been disappointed in him, gradually go from suspicion to trust. His daughter, once afraid of him, starts calling him Daddy again, while his despairing wife finally dares to smile at him. With the Mountain Lord commanding the beasts and all creatures following his lead, Lu Qingshan's new life has only just begun.
