In 1988, forty-year-old hunter Chen Yuanshan is forced by his wife, Liu Guifen, to divorce him on their wedding anniversary. In his previous life, he repeatedly gave in, only to have his worth drained away before freezing to death deep in the mountains. Reborn, he decisively divorces her and takes only his mountain-keeper's hut and battered hunting gear. The charming widow Shen Lanying brings food to join him and agrees to live with him in the dilapidated hut. On his first trip into the mountains, Chen Yuanshan awakens the Infinite Hunting Gear Evolution System, which evolves nine broken hunting tools one by one into mythical divine artifacts. Using these artifacts to hunt ferocious beasts, he joins forces with Shen Lanying to build a commercial empire in mountain produce. Facing his ex-wife's regret and competition from the antagonist Gao Wanlin, Chen Yuanshan rises from adversity, eventually marries Shen Lanying, and begins a brand-new legend.
