After his father passes away, Shen Ye works tirelessly for his uncle's family for eight years, only to receive a hundred acres of saline-alkali land and an old ox when the family estate is divided. After unexpectedly gaining spiritual powers, the old yellow ox helps him discover the underground freshwater vein and salt-tolerant rice seeds left behind by his father. His uncle Shen Dagui and his son repeatedly sabotage him by stealing seedlings, swapping seeds, and spreading rumors. Wang Qinian of Hongsheng Agriculture also sets a trap involving a supply contract and a high-stakes bet. Teaming up with his fiancée, Lin Qingqing, Shen Ye relies on improved farming techniques and preserved evidence to establish a colored-rice cooperative. He dismantles his opponents' schemes one by one, transforms the barren saline-alkali wasteland into fertile fields, and watches the wicked suffer the consequences of their own actions as his entrepreneurial journey reaches a happy ending.
