Zhou Jianguo is a machine tool engineer who values technology and responsibility more than his own life, and the "Technology Model Worker" badge on his chest is the honor won by his years of persistence. However, his wife Zhang Guifen despises him for smelling like machine oil, secretly entangles with factory director Zhao Kai, and forces him to sign an acceptance form with hidden safety hazards. Facing the betrayal of his loved one, the coercion of his leader, and the misunderstanding of the whole factory, Zhou Jianguo chooses to guard his bottom line. In crisis after crisis, he uses technology to prove his value, and also makes everyone understand that true dignity never relies on money and status, but on persistence with a clear conscience.
