Lingyun Sect Leader Shen Nianqing travels incognito as the "Eldest Senior Sister" and saves outer disciple Lin Wan'er. Mistaking her for an ordinary disciple, Lin Wan'er attempts to blackmail her into conceding defeat during a duel using the pretext of "practicing forbidden arts" to secure an inner sect qualification. Shen Nianqing publicly reveals her identity as the sect leader at the grand tournament, settling the matter with magnanimity and taking the pure-hearted Su Qianqian as her direct disciple. Soon after, the Ruins Seal shatters, and demons run amok. Shen Nianqing joins forces with Demon Realm leader Ye Junli to seal the Ruins, reorganize the immortal sect's order, establish new rules, and officially become the immortal vanguard protecting the world.
