Fulfilling an old friend's dying wish, Lin Luo takes in twin sisters Wen Shuyao and Wen Youning, whose lives have been plagued by hardship. The elder sister, Wen Shuyao, is proud and strong-willed, wanting to clearly account for every favor and expense rather than accepting goodwill for free. The younger sister, Wen Youning, bearing deep trauma, has a closed heart and is accustomed to writing down her innermost thoughts in a notebook. Cramped together in a tiny apartment, the three warm up to each other amidst the mundane spark of daily life and together get admitted into Linjiang University. Making a living through street vending and accompanying each other through campus, they slowly heal past scars and gradually build a cozy and stable little world of their own.
