In the fifth year of a devastating drought, Wen Li, a farm girl from Taohua Village, takes her five-year-old twin younger siblings to the capital to repay Shen Qingyan, the heir of the Duke of Ningguo, whom her father once rescued from the water. The heir offers her money and a house, but she insists on earning her own future. With her expertise in farming and grafting, she passes the examination to become an agricultural teacher at the National Academy, where she takes a group of spoiled young nobles into the fields to grow upland rice. Together, they cultivate a new rice variety capable of saving drought-stricken regions. The cold and aloof heir may have a sharp tongue, but he has a kind heart and protects her every step of the way. What begins as repaying a debt of gratitude gradually turns into love. This short drama is adapted from the Tomato Novel 'This Man Is Worth Picking Up: He Repays Kindness with Money and a Job,' written by Dun Dan Huang.
