Spirit-gatherer Lu Qingya searches for ascension grass to save his master, accidentally entering the once-in-twenty-years ascension review assembly. Immortal sect genius Xiao Yunting humiliates him, yet the spirit-testing platform cracks because of a nameless grass. During maze spirit-gathering, he kneels down to see the neglected array core; before the inner-demon mirror, he only wishes for his master's illness to heal. The ascension platform collapses, immortal sect disciples fall, Lu Qingya uses the nameless grass to steady the platform body, and the heavenly Dao mark recognizes him as master. He gives up ascension, becomes the new array core, and guards the ascension platform for twenty years. His master and Xiao Ya wait for him among the mountains, gathering spirit grass and watching starlight.
