The cunning, food-loving Wu Beiliang is sent off by the entire village. Leading a big black dog and riding a little donkey, he embarks on a long journey to cultivate immortality. With chaos secretly lurking in his dantian, he still hasn't even reached the first level of Qi Refining after half a year. Yet he's a notorious trickster who has turned the immortal sects upside down—stripping the Immortal Crane Sect of every celestial herb and devouring all the spiritual pills of the Ascension Sect. After sneaking into the Lingtian Sect as a menial disciple, the trio of one man, one donkey, and one dog team up to pull off one scheme after another: Dahei serves as bait, the little donkey kicks their enemies from behind, and Wu Beiliang strikes them on the back of the head. Battling demons, ghosts, and immortals alike, he takes the most outrageous path to cultivation and laughs all the way to ascension!
