Chen Jian transmigrates into a teenage boy whose spiritual root was stripped and whose corpse was abandoned by the Empress. He binds with the Shock System, restarting his path of cultivation through sharp wit and ridiculous operations. Partnering with Xiao Hei, who claims to be a Qilin and is gluttonous yet remarkably resilient, he takes Qingfeng as his master, wields the Seven Swords, and accidentally becomes the Master of the Liuli Sect. The man and dog venture into secret realms and battle powerful enemies, covering for each other while protecting their friends side by side. After Yuxia is murdered, Chen Jian preserves her soul, vowing to seek the Seven Spirit Pearls to reclaim her spiritual root from the Empress and reshape a physical body for her. To find the Golden Spirit Pearl, he sneaks into the Tianyi Sect, shaking all the peaks with his Chaotic Spiritual Body and stepping onto the Heavenly Ladder to undergo the founding ancestor's test of character.
