A Spoonful of Pickled Cabbage, the Ledger of Human Hearts
Cen Zhiheng, an employee at Zheguang Media, asks for a spoonful of pickled cabbage at Deng Ji Old Stove Rice Noodles, only to be treated harshly by the owner, Pu Yuzhen. The restaurant also has hidden hygiene issues. Meanwhile, the new shop at the corner, Shiwei Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles, operates with sincerity. Cen Zhiheng promotes them to enter the company's meal subsidy options, causing Deng Ji's business to plummet. Unwilling to reflect, Pu Yuzhen uses uncertified soup bases, sells spoiled ingredients, maliciously reports her competitor, and goes to the company entrance to distort facts and win sympathy. In the end, Deng Ji is sealed up due to food safety issues, and Pu Yuzhen is left abandoned by all. Shiwei adheres to its original intention of quality and respecting customers, reaping a steady stream of patrons.
