Jiang Linchuan, a successor of Mount Qiyun, is ordered by his master to descend the mountain with three marriage contracts, break off the engagements, and reclaim the old debts owed by the three families. By chance, he meets Xu Zhiwan, a woman confined to a wheelchair. Jiang Linchuan discovers that Xu Zhiwan's paralysis of three years was no accident. The two join forces to investigate, uncovering the truth behind the Xu family's struggle for power, the Pei family's theft of talismanic arts, and the murder of Xu Zhiwan's father. Pei Lingshuang, the mastermind behind everything, even attacks Xuanqingzi in her pursuit of the position of successor to Mount Qiyun. Jiang Linchuan and Xu Zhiwan face life-and-death trials, break the forbidden curse, and ultimately expose the Pei family's conspiracy. Jiang Linchuan officially takes over Mount Qiyun. After all three old marriage contracts are canceled, the two put aside the marriage arrangements made by their elders and choose each other again of their own free will.
