After intern Chen Mo awakens the ability to understand animal speech, with the help of a group of beasts such as a black mastiff, parrot, and red fox, he fights quacks, punishes the powerful, saves living creatures, and identifies national treasures all along the way. He uncovers the Old Summer Palace's grand dragon vat, seizes the Imperial Seal with wisdom on the high seas, and breaks foreign capital's attempts to mine the heart of the earth's veins, guarding one national treasure after another back for the country. Ultimately, he wins recognition and donates to build a free museum.
