Working person Tao Wanlin, in order to repay her mortgage and save her father, signed up for the high-bonus dating variety show Let Us Build A Nest Together. Arriving at the recording site, she suddenly realized that all the guests are different species of monsters such as blood races, fox races, and mermen. To save her life, Tao Wanlin fabricated a "Niu Ma race" identity to disguise herself, single-mindedly wanting only to complete the task and earn the bonus. But she unexpectedly reunited with her former mermen ex-boyfriend Qing Lan, who once abandoned his fish tail and voice for her, and now has mixed feelings of love and hatred for her. Under the attention and pull of various different-species guests, Tao Wanlin uses workplace rules to survive while desperately covering up her human vest, maneuvering amidst the crisis-ridden dating variety show.
