For many years, Lin Wan bought a house and paid off loans for her younger brother Lin Yan, and provided for the whole family, yet she was scolded for wasting money even when buying a silver bracelet for her birthday. Heartbroken and awakened, she broke off family ties and returned to her hometown, only to learn that their old family home was being demolished with 5 million in compensation. When Lin Yan and his mother failed in their scheme to fake illness for money, they caused trouble at her door and were reported to the police instead. Lin Wan rescued Gu Mingyuan, the wealthiest man in Nanshi who had fainted, and Gu promoted Lin Yan to repay the favor, but Lin Yan proudly went to humiliate his older sister. Gu Mingyuan appeared to fire Lin Yan and presented a card to express his gratitude. To scam 3 million in insurance money, Lin Yan plotted to murder Lin Wan with gas, but fortunately was rescued in time by Gu Mingyuan. In the end, Lin Yan and his mother were sentenced to 10 years in prison, and Lin Wan threw away the silver bracelet symbolizing her past, walking towards a brand new life.
