Huanhuan Sect disciple Si Ying has consistently failed her cultivation assessments for years. Aided by her senior sister, she originally intended to complete her sect assignments, but mistakenly brought back Wei Hanzhi, the young sect master of the Heartless Dao. Timid and too cowed to act presumptuously, she only begged him to play along with her for the assessment acting. Upon discovering the man's true identity, a panicked Si Ying fled overnight. Reencountering him in a secret realm, after going through crises and misunderstandings, Wei Hanzhi—whose dao heart had been frozen—saw through his true heart, renounced the Heartless Dao, and rushed toward her. The two resolved their estrangement to become dao companions, kicking off a comedic and romantic xianxia tale.
