Jiang Wanwan and Fu Jiuzhou grew up together as childhood sweethearts. She was poisoned while saving his life, but Fu Jiuzhou used the excuse of taking blood to cure her poison to imprison Shen Qingci, an enemy nation's assassin, in his residence and shower her with affection. On their wedding night, Jiang Wanwan unexpectedly saw on-screen comments revealing that she was a doomed cannon-fodder character in a novel, destined to die young. Fu Jiuzhou had been deceiving her with pig's blood all along and had secretly been involved with Shen Qingci. After awakening to the truth, she sought out a divine physician to cure both her poison and leg ailment, refusing to let anyone bully her again. Blinded by Shen Qingci's deception, Fu Jiuzhou repeatedly wronged and hurt Jiang Wanwan, even suspending her over the Ten Thousand Poisons Cave to force a confession. Jiang Wanwan narrowly escaped death and severed all ties with him. Later, she rescued the gravely wounded Chi Wangchuan, and the two remained together for the rest of their lives.
