Lin Ye, a young man who has returned to his hometown, arrives in a village with torrential rain approaching. He offers to help villagers with summer sowing at the low price of 40 yuan, sparking a confrontation with his cousin Lin Dajun, who monopolizes the local market. Fake seeds, drought, insect infestations, and early frost strike one after another, but Lin Ye uses an old tractor to lead the villagers through every crisis. Wang Xue, a technician from a seed company, goes from being doubted to fighting alongside him. Together, they use science to transform traditional farming methods. Lin Ye refuses to accept unfairly low prices from grain merchants, obtains pollution-free certification, and establishes the Torrential Rain Summer Sowing brand, leading the entire village to prosperity. Torrential rain may wash away farmland, but it cannot wash away the people's spirit.
