College student Ye Qing owes high-interest loans due to his father's serious illness, and returns home to fish only to find the sea devoid of fish. While diving, he accidentally swallows a deep-sea dragon ball, subdues the giant electric eel Xiao Dian, and gains the abilities to see underwater and control marine life. He relies on Xiao Dian to drive fish schools, harvests a large amount of flying fish on his maiden voyage, pays off his debts, and raises his father's treatment fees. Along the way, he saves a stranded shark, Lao Sha, and meets Liu Yuadie, the daughter of a seafood merchant. Going out to sea multiple times to catch valuable seafood such as tuna and giant grouper, he supplies them at high prices and achieves long-term cooperation. Ye Qing leads the villagers to reclaim fishery, fights against competing merchants and the prodigal Wang Ming, and plans to renovate the island and build new houses, leading all the villagers in fishing to get rich together.
