College student Lin Wan returned to her hometown to start a business, paying out of her own pocket to build a bridge. Crossing the bridge cost only a dime, with all proceeds donated to the village primary school. She also opened a convenience store with fair prices, allowing villagers in difficulty to buy on credit, single-mindedly wanting to lead the villagers to a good life. Unexpectedly, an internet celebrity came to spread malicious rumors, and the incited villagers cursed Lin Wan as an ungrateful wretch. Deeply hurt, Lin Wan left in a fit of anger. After suffering all kinds of hardships, the villagers finally came to their senses, crossing mountains and ridges to beg Lin Wan to return. But the heavily scarred Lin Wan no longer believed in them, holding firm to her bottom line and refusing to provide unconditional support.
