Meng Hao, who transmigrated into a dog-blood novel, became a pathetic, impoverished extra. So, she came up with a clever idea: specially when the original female lead, Xia Ran, put on airs and rejected the wealthy young master's gifts, she would slide-tackle to intercept 99 roses and a 20,000 bracelet, reselling them to make a small fortune. While getting rich through "picking up leaks," she accidentally disrupted the original book's romantic plotlines, formed a study partnership with class monitor Han Xifeng, helped eldest miss Zhu Xin snap back and drive away the blood-sucking original male lead Qin Shou, and even recruited impoverished scholarship student Xue Yi as her informant. The female lead's halo gradually lost its effect, while Meng Hao went further and further down the road of making money.
