In the winter of 1984, Zhou Changhe, reborn with a second chance at life, finally comes to his senses and stops blindly favoring his birth family. Relying on his fishing skills to earn a living, he firmly separates from his family to protect his wife and daughter, drawing a clear financial boundary with his parents and brothers, who favor sons over daughters. Together, the couple fish and run a business to put their daughter through school. The Zhou family members ultimately suffer the consequences of their own actions, while Zhou Changhe and his little family protect what they have and enjoy a peaceful New Year.
