In 1998, Song Yuanshan, a young forestry worker, is reborn with the memories of his previous life. Pressured by his fiancée, Wang Meilian, and his future mother-in-law, Zhao Xiuzhi, to spend all his family's savings on an apartment in the city, he decisively calls off the engagement and invests the entire 120,000 yuan buyout payment in the neglected Daqingshan mountain. Using the notebook left behind by his father, Song Yuanshan discovers a premium mineral water source underground and earns his first fortune. He also meets Gu Qing, an agricultural expert from the provincial capital who has come to work in the countryside. Undeterred by difficulties, the two join forces to develop an ecological economy beneath the forest and help impoverished villagers grow high-quality medicinal herbs. Ultimately, Song Yuanshan leads the entire township out of poverty and into prosperity while finding true love with Gu Qing.
