On the snowy night when his daughter froze, alcoholic father Sun Jianguo unexpectedly reincarnates. Haunted by the painful memories of his previous life, in which his family fell apart and he died miserably in prison, he resolves to turn over a new leaf and protect his three daughters. He stands up to his cruel stepmother and his vicious parents-in-law, works himself to the bone to earn money, and withstands old gambling debts, threats from local thugs, and the crushing pressures of life. With help from his neighbors and superiors, he climbs out of the mire and unexpectedly redeems his non-biological stepson. In the end, he rewrites his fate and builds a warm home for his children.
