In her past life, Rong Jiqiao posed as the savior of Duan Yan, the lost heir of the Duan family, and enjoyed his pampering. When the true heir finally returned, she was kicked aside. Refusing to give up, she repeatedly entangled herself with him, only to be killed by Duan Yan's pursuer. Opening her eyes, she finds herself reborn in the year before any of the lies were exposed. She makes up her mind to save up enough money and run away immediately, never touching this ill-fated relationship again. Little does she know, after the Duan family recognizes Duan Yan and gives her a compensation package to make her leave, just as Rong Jiqiao is getting ready to quietly pack up and run, Duan Yan stops her right on the spot: "You've lied to this extent, why not just lie all the way to the end?"
