Zhou Zheng, a barbecue chef devoted to his craft, insists on using only fresh meat delivered that day. However, his refusal to use inferior frozen products or compromise his standards leads his boss, Sun Dacheng, to cut his pay and push him aside. He quits and takes his apprentice, A Kai, with him, transforming discarded materials into a mobile barbecue stall. With his outstanding skills, he quickly earns the appreciation of customers. Meanwhile, Sun Dacheng uses cheap, near-expiration meat to engage in cutthroat competition, hoping to drive Zhou Zheng out of business through lower prices. Thus begins a battle between honest craftsmanship and cheap, inferior products.
