A modern working girl Yun Yang wishes for a high-paying job, and accidentally travels through time to ancient times to become a maid in the City Lord's Mansion. She can actually hear the inner monologue of the mute City Lord Fu Xiaoting. The City Lord is cold and taciturn on the outside, but a foodie and goofy on the inside. Relying on mind-reading to please the City Lord, Yun Yang frantically makes money, and the two gradually develop feelings for each other during daily bantering and dealing with power-grabbing villains. Yun Yang accidentally loses her mind-reading ability, and Fu Xiaoting also lifts his many years of psychological trauma and starts speaking because of her. After going through separation, the two finally reunite across time and space.
