Su Li, an outer-sect girl with a mixed spiritual root of all five elements, picks up a little charred white snake. She forcibly ties a pink bow around it and feeds it burnt, useless pills. Little does she know that the snake is actually Pei Yunji, the Immortal Venerable of Lingxiao, who has fallen into mortal form after suffering a backlash from his cultivation. Though the Immortal Venerable expresses endless disdain, he secretly teaches her top-tier formation and alchemy techniques, while discreetly helping her crush a plagiarizing senior sister and put arrogant elders in their place. When a thunder tribulation on a rainy night reveals his true form, his century-old heartless cultivation path completely crumbles, and the once-mighty deity of the Nine Heavens willingly becomes her exclusive spirit pet. The sweet romance and satisfying reversal of expectations reach their peak.
