Outer disciple Chu Ci was crippled of his spiritual roots by his junior brother with a cup of poisonous wine, expelled from the sect, and died miserably in the wilderness. Opening his eyes again, he is reborn back to the night before the sect grand competition, and that cup of poisonous wine is sitting right in front of him. He knows there is poison in the wine, but he chooses to drink it—because before his death in his past life he discovered a secret: his spiritual roots were never crippled, that cup of poisonous wine is the key to the seal, and what it unlocks is the Myriad Poison Spiritual Roots that have slumbered in his body for three hundred years. Feigning death to escape, rising in secret, the people who harmed him in the past think he has long turned into withered bones, unaware that he is currently in the dark, watching that poisonous dragon sealed for three hundred years slowly open its eyes.
