Lu Chenzhou, a scion of a military lineage, suddenly encounters a family catastrophe, becomes a convicted criminal, and is exiled to the desolate and perilous Black Stone Pass to command a group of old, weak, wounded, and remnant soldiers. Facing desperate straits, external enemies pressing at the borders, and schemes from the shadows, he breaks through all difficulties, reorganizes military discipline, tempers the remnant soldiers, and leads a group of grassroots soldiers abandoned by the world to defend the frontier pass to the death. With flesh and blood, they guard the national territory and common folk, rise against the adversity, and swear to wash away the family's false grievances and hold the rivers and mountains behind them.
