Meng Wenxing, who struggles to make a living alone in a big city, is suddenly faced with an eccentric mother and son moving in next door to his newly purchased home. The mother is obsessed with collecting junk, piling all the discarded items she scavenges in the hallway, blocking passage and filling the area with a sour, foul stench. When Meng Wenxing confronts her to reason with her, she launches personal attacks against him. The property management company refuses to get involved and tries to appease both sides, claiming that the hallway is a public space that anyone can use. With nowhere left to turn for help, Meng Wenxing decides to fight back.
