On the eve of the Xuanwu Gate incident in the ninth year of Wude, Chen Huai'an, an immortal endowed with the strength of the Hegemon King, tries in vain to persuade Crown Prince Li Jiancheng to avoid disaster, and instead takes the initiative to be imprisoned alongside Wei Zheng for self-preservation. During a midnight coup in Chang'an, while breaking out of the heavenly prison to survive, they unexpectedly run into Li Shimin. A single line, "Sharing the same crime with all of you," coupled with unique monarch-minister political insights, instantly wins over the monarch, leading to his appointment as a teacher at the Hongwen Academy. Rejecting traditional exegesis, he uses forward-looking concepts such as strengthening the military, promoting deep farming, and treating scholars, farmers, artisans, and merchants alike as the foundation of the state to ignite the ambition of Li Chengqian, Cheng Chumo, and a group of youths to reform the world. To fend off the Tujue and prepare for natural disasters, master and disciples brew a famous wine named "Beauty's Pass," which takes Chang'an by storm with a mere hundred strings of cash. The wine shop soon attracts the covetous eyes of Pei Ji's faction.
