A bizarre night shrouds the Great Qian, and commoners shut their doors at nightfall. To save his mother and younger sister who have been infected by evil Qi, the young Zhang Fan resolutely joins the nine-deaths-and-one-life night watchmen. In life-or-death night patrols time and again, through courage and persistence, he hones his sword technique and protects his companions, and gradually understands that true strength is not merely surviving, but daring to hold a lantern and march forward when darkness falls. Carrying lanterns on night patrol, all evils are forbidden to pass; with the blade and lantern in his hand, he will guard a ray of light for his family and the common people.
