The gambling-addicted Shen Qingyuan is reborn back into 1982. Facing the mess of creditors knocking on his door and his wife and daughter starving, he vows to quit gambling and support his family. A heavenly wolf bone pendant awakens the power of the mountain lord within him; he rescues wolves and forms covenants with them, uses animals to search for medicinal herbs and mountain goods, saves Factory Director Han's gravely ill daughter, and gradually wins back the trust and affection of his wife and daughter. Later, he leases the Qinglong Mountains, and together with Su Wan and the villagers, gathers and processes medicinal herbs, launching a mountain goods company. Zhao Wanjin and Qian Shichang repeatedly sabotage him to seize the mountain forests, even illegally logging trees, while Zhou Dabiao sets fire to the mountains. Shen Qingyuan leads the villagers and myriad beasts to rescue people and protect the mountains, ultimately summoning heavy rain to put out the mountain fire, bringing the villains to justice, and rebuilding the Qinglong Mountains alongside his family and villagers.
