Modern homebody Liu Zheng time-travels to the late Eastern Han dynasty, reduced to the lowest-ranking miscellaneous soldier of the Yellow Turban army. Relying on historical foresight and modern military knowledge, he escapes alive from the Battle of Changshe, rescues fierce general Xu Huang, defeats Cao Cao, smashes Sun Jian, recruits Huang Zhong, beheads Zhu Jun, and even invades with stirrups to heavily rout Hua Xiong's elite cavalry. Finally, he launches a surprise attack on Luoyang, captures Emperor Ling of Han and He Jin alive, retreats safely while holding the crown prince hostage, and stirs up the winds and clouds of the realm.
