They Secretly Raise Me
Yang Xiaozhou is a 28-year-old, scruffy young man who lives paycheck to paycheck but simply cannot bear to see stray animals suffer. He successively takes in four strays: Egg Roll, a Bichon Frise; Egg White, a Border Collie; Egg Tart, a bicolor Ragdoll; and Egg Cake, a colorpoint Ragdoll. From then on, his home mysteriously stays spotless, his slippers put themselves away, potato chip crumbs disappear overnight, and freeze-dried treats somehow appear in his instant noodle bowls. Completely baffled, he assumes his memory must simply be getting better. What he doesn't know is that every day, the moment he leaves, his four furry companions get to work. It isn't until one day when he unexpectedly comes home early and catches them busily working throughout the house that he finally discovers the truth: all these years, he hasn't been taking care of them. They've been taking care of him.
