A Box of Egg Tarts Sets Off Campus Rumors
Freshman Lin Xiao sends her older brother, Lin Yu, a message asking him to buy her a box of egg tarts. However, his girlfriend, Su Meng, edits out the rest of their conversation and falsely accuses Lin Xiao of being a homewrecker, posting her on the campus forum. Su Meng gathers people to corner Lin Xiao and publicly humiliate her through a livestream. To protect his relationship and save face, Lin Yu refuses to acknowledge his own sister and even tries to stop her from seeking justice. With the support of her roommates and parents, Lin Xiao preserves their chat history, surveillance footage, and evidence of her injuries, exposing the truth that Su Meng deliberately spread the rumors despite knowing they were siblings. Those who assaulted her and spread the rumors face disciplinary action and legal consequences, while her brother also pays the price for enabling the abuse. Refusing to be forced into forgiveness, Lin Xiao establishes a student support center and takes control of her life again.
