Ye Ming, a heavy-industry mechanic, purchases a scrapped excavator that has lain buried for years in a flooded mine pit at Jiupanshan, bidding for it at a county auction house despite the bewildered looks of everyone around him. Facing his partner's decision to withdraw his investment and cut ties, as well as his ex-girlfriend's materialistic demands and deliberate harassment, he remains calm. With solid expertise in mechanical manufacturing and an unyielding determination to get things done, he devotes himself to research in a humble repair workshop. Through a major overhaul of the discarded equipment he bought at auction, Ye Ming unexpectedly masters the core technology of a specialized high-pressure hydraulic transmission system, breaking the longstanding monopoly held by a joint-venture consortium.
