Shen Yan is a modern literature PhD who accidentally time-traveled to become a dissolute good-for-nothing in the city. Just as he woke up, he faced the humiliation of the Su family publicly annulling their engagement, as well as the disdain of female lead Su Qingyuan and the mockery of talented scholar Liu Wenxuan. Using his modern memory, Shen Yan recited poetry on the spot to prove his innocence, not only making a bet, but also gradually reversing the public's view of him through a series of coincidences or provocations (such as street encounters and publicly circulating poetry).
