Ye Linglong transmigrated into a Xianxia novel she had read, becoming the cannon-fodder supporting character of the same name—the original character would be brought into the Seven Stars Sect by her adoptive sister Ye Rongyue, stripped of her cultivation, and killed by a thousand arrows piercing her heart. To defy the heavens and change her fate, she purposely caused trouble at the disciple-recruitment ceremony, and as a result was taken in as a disciple based on her looks by Hua Xiuyuan, the sect master of the Qingxuan Sect which is "full of villains." After entering, she discovered that although the Qingxuan Sect was viewed by the outside world as the worst sect, its secret realms were actually littered with treasures, and the scripture pavilion held supreme cultivation methods. Using her own strength, she broke the restrictions of the scripture pavilion, found high-tier techniques for her senior brothers, and forced the entire sect to "roll up their sleeves" and prepare for the peak martial arts assembly.
