Jiang Chao, a discharged soldier, returns to Dongsha Village to start a business. He invests his savings in building a cold storage facility and reinforcing the fish rafts, but many villagers misunderstand his actions. After a typhoon strikes, the village faces difficulties preserving its catch, and Jiang Chao's cold storage facility proves crucial. Rather than taking advantage of the situation by raising prices, he makes storage space available at fair rates, helping his fellow villagers minimize their losses. He then takes the lead in establishing a fishing cooperative, bringing Dongsha Village together to develop its industry, increase incomes, and build a prosperous future.
